story

Korog doesn’t play a significant role in the metal scene of the world, Europe, or even Hungary. They agree to have chosen an individual way so they get ahead far off the beaten track enjoying creating and playing music together.  They have released three albums, given several concerts and gone on an international tour so far.

korog

Korog formed in 1995. Three of the founders are still members of the band - guitarist Péter Ágoston Eki, drummer Dávid Lukács, bassist Balázs Sebestény. The band recorded their first single, Corpus Kriszti (1997), after guitarist Krisztián Keszei joined the group. Having released the first album, Álmodj Makkal (1999), Gábor Simon left the band. Krisztián Keszei and Dávid Lukács also went off for a while and Attila Csihar became the singer. After Dávid Lukács returned they recorded a demo, Live in Studio (2002). Krisztián Keszei was also back when they recorded their next album, Korog (2005). Before the album was released Attila Csihar went on to Mayhem and MKAtorz (ex-Neural Booster) got his post. Later Krisztián Keszei left the band for good and was replaced by Gábor Nagy (ex-Intense Agonising) This formation has remained the same since then. Korog went on a tour including countries such as Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece and Serbia in 2006. Their third album, Mumus, was recorded in 2007.

Korog is noted for its broken odd rhythms. Their releases include unique drumbeats, brilliant guitarplays, virtuosic solos and brutal vocals. However, fans find their performance nearly indigestible, Korog consider their music to be a simple rock’n'roll in a kind of special interpretation which they just call growl’n'roll.  It is still hard to put their music into a category.

All members of the Korog are over 30, laid-back guys in private life. If they are in the mood, they can reveal their metal demon on the concerts, though. Despite Korog has never given concerts frequently, their devoted fans follow them even abroad for a live concert.
